The Volunteer Centre in North Warwickshire has announced exciting new plans that will see it begin to offer its services through six ‘Contact Points’ across the area.
Whilst maintaining its office on Long Street, Atherstone, the Volunteer Centre will now be able to be accessed through venues in Coleshill, Polesworth, Birchmoor, Arley and Hartshill. The venues are not new offices for the Volunteer Centre, instead they will sign post people to find out about volunteering through leaflets, folders and a newly designed Volunteer Centre North Warwickshire website.
Volunteer Centre spokesman Adam Farrell said “We recognise the difficulty many people have in accessing our services in Atherstone because of the poor transport links and long distances between the towns and villages that make up the borough.
These new contact points will allow people to find out what volunteering opportunities there are in the area without having to travel into Atherstone. We want to make it easy to find volunteering opportunities, this way local residents can make a shorter journey to one of the new contact points.
Once a perspective volunteer has found an opportunity they like then they can be referred at the contact point to a member of staff based at our office. We will then arrange to conduct a short interview with them either at our office, at one of the contact points or through the video conferencing available through the B.O.B Hubs in four of the ‘Contact Points.”
The new contact points can be found at Arley and St Michaels Community Centre, Birchmoor Information Hub, Coleshill Town Hall Hub, Coleshill Library, Hartshill Community Centre and Polesworth library.
