People are needed from the Atherstone and Mancetter areas to help serve tea and cake.
There are some exciting changes taking place at the White Hart Tea Room in Atherstone, meaning there are more volunteering opportunities for servers and cake bakers.
The Tea Room is a project managed by the Volunteer Centre North Warwickshire. It’s having a bit of a revamp and will incorporate a new Visitors Centre. There will be a launch on the 6th November and from then on the tea room will open Monday – Friday 12 – 4pm. As well as offering the usual tea, coffee and cakes, sandwiches will also be on the menu.
Based at the bottom of Long Street the volunteer run tea room has been up and running since the summer of 2012. A number of people have already used their volunteering to help them get a job. One server went on to get a job in a hotel kitchen and another in a café.
Project Manager Martin Horner said “This is a great opportunity for people looking to go into the catering industry. We can offer training in customer service and food hygiene as well as giving people a real experience in a tea room. We’re a really friendly team and are looking forward to expanding our pool of volunteers”
Anyone who wants to get involved can go along to an open afternoon on Monday 28th October 1 – 3pm. You’ll be signed up as a volunteer, be shown round the tea room and kitchen as well as having a taster in basic customer service training.
