Polesworth Abbey - Monks and Nuns
The Abbey site is over 1200 years old and visitors are encouraged to know more about the history and heritage of the site.Recently the Abbey has secured funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund to help with a schools project which takes place in the Abbey Church and around the Abbey site. The project aims to make history real for children by role play and will take them back to the medieval life of Monks and Nuns.
The programme is professionally run by 'Diversions' but will rely upon volunteers who will work with small groups of children in a programme of 'plenary' activity or group activities such as calligraphy, candle making, embroidery or other crafts that fit in with Monks and Nuns.
There will be a launch of the project in early April date to be confirmed.
A leaflet has been produced which gives details of the Volunteering Opportunities and how to find out more about volunteering at Polesworth Abbey which can be downloaded as an Adobe Pdf
