Parkinson’s UK Launches Warwickshire Fundraising Group

Parkinson’s UK is looking to recruit volunteers from the Warwickshire area, to come together to create the first Fundraising Group in the West Midlands.

Potential volunteers are invited for a glass of wine at High Pavement in Warwick on Wednesday 5th June at 6pm to celebrate Volunteers’ Week and find out more about the new group.

Vanessa Wakeford, Regional Fundraiser for the West Midlands at Parkinson’s UK, said, “We’re really excited about launching our first fundraising group to raise vital funds to support everyone in the West Midlands living with Parkinson’s. What better time than Volunteer’s Week to promote fundraising within the local community and encourage new supporters to help the charity.

‘Every hour someone in the UK is told they have Parkinson’s, but at the moment there is no cure. I hope many people will be inspired to come along for an informal chat and to help us to make a real difference to local people living with the condition. Our mission is to reach everyone living with Parkinson’s by 2014 as we believe no-one should have to face Parkinson’s alone; our new Fundraising group will help us achieve this.”
