Our Projects

Here's some of the projects we have running at the moment.

Garden Buddy

Our team of dedicated volunteers meet once a week to maintain the gardens of the sick, elderly and disabled in north Warwickshire.

Expenses paid and training given to those involved. Click here the images to see more pictures.

Garden Buddy Volunteers

To become a garden buddy or an allotment volunteer, give Martin Horner a call on 01827 717073 or email him martin.horner@vcnw.org.uk

Allotment Project

We have an allotment in Atherstone which our volunteers maintain on a weekly basis.

Last year there has been a bumper harvest which was given away to members of the local community.

VCNW has been working in partnership with the Citizens Advice Bureau to give vegetable bags to people who come in their Atherstone based office. Click the image to see more pictures of Project Manager, Martin Horner handing over the vegetables.

Help at Hand

Funded by the Big Lottery, this is a new project which will see the Volunteer Centre North Warwickshire work in fifteen areas in North Warwickshire over the next five years.

We'll be recruiting people to volunteer in their local communities. Help at Hand matches people with the right skills to those who need help the most.

We are looking for volunteers to do a variety of things: basic decorating, gardening, computer mentoring, shopping, dog walking, sewing and much more.

Over the next few months we'll be working in Kingsbury.

Yards of Atherstone

This project investigates the history of the yards of Atherstone.

The group have just held a very successful exhibition which saw over three hundred people visit, including a family from Australia.

They have also written a book about the yards of Atherstone. The first batch printed were so successful they have all gone, but we are waiting for some more.

For more information about the book, give Martin a ring on 01827 717073.

You can also find out more on their website www.atherstonesheritage.com

or by finding them on facebook.
