Get healthy after Easter indulgence

Volunteer Centre North Warwickshire is helping you get healthy after Easter indulgence by offering bags of locally produced fruit and vegetables at the reasonable price of £2.50 for a small bag and £4.50 for a large bag.

The scheme, run in partnership with North Warwickshire Borough Council, has now been operating for four months and lots of local people have already benefited from being able to access fresh, locally produced fruit and veg from the Volunteer Centre on Long Street, Atherstone.

The contents of the bags vary each week so you’ll never run out of ideas for what to make, there are even recipes included with the bags!

VCNW spokesperson Adam Farrell said “These fruit and veg bags are a great way to access fresh and locally produced fruit and veg. After all those Easter eggs it’s a great way to get back to eating healthily. It’s not all soups and roast dinners though, cakes can also be made using vegetables from carrot cake to chocolate and beetroot cake.”

To order your bag drop into the Volunteer Centre, at the bottom of Long Street Monday to Friday 9:30AM to 4:30PM. You order one week in advance and the bags are ready to collect the following Wednesday onwards.

We are now also offering salad bags and a range of chutneys. We hope to offer eggs and jams in the coming months.
