Creative Volunteers Wanted for New Project
Fancy yourself as an artist or master baker? The Volunteer Centre North Warwickshire needs you!
People are needed to volunteer in these roles for a new project which will improve the health and wellbeing of people in Atherstone and its surrounding villages.
The North Warwickshire Wellbeing Group is being launched in a couple of weeks by the centre based in Long Street.
The group will meet weekly and will be open to anyone over the age of fifty, but aims in particular to support those who are socially isolated, have a mental health issue or have or are at risk of dementia.
If you are interested in arts, crafts or baking and think you could be a volunteer, please get in touch on 01827 717073.
Adam Farrell, Development Coordinator said “As a Volunteer Centre we have six core functions. One of our functions is to develop volunteering opportunities that the current market doesn’t offer. These new roles fill a gap and offer local people the chance to help improve the wellbeing of others in their community.”
The group’s first session will be on Friday 11th July 12 – 2pm.
Adam added “We’re looking for someone to give up a couple of hours per week. You don’t have to be the next Picasso or Delia Smith to volunteer for us. We’re looking for friendly, reliable volunteers who want to give something back to their community and have a bit of fun at the same time.”
