Age UK Warwickshire – Befriending Service
The Befriending Project is a countywide service designed to provide social contact to older people who lack the ability to meet people outside of their own homes. Reduced mobility, loss of confidence, bereavement and lack of family or community support are some of the biggest factors which can lead to social isolation.
Age UK are looking for befriending volunteers to make regular weekly calls to people who find themselves with very few visitors, giving them something to look forward to. There are no particulr skills needed to become a befriender; just the ability to commit to 1 or 2 hours a week and an understanding of the challenges that some older people face. Volunteers provide a positive impact on the lives of others as the befriender can be a vital link to other services as well as the wider community
If you live or are willing to travel to Coleshill, Baddersley Ensor, Chapel End, Water Orton and Baxterley your help could really make a difference.
If you can volunteer approx 2 hours per week please get in touch with Volunteer Centre North Warwickshire on 01827 717 073 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
