About VCNW

How did we start?white hart house

We started in 1980 as a project attached to North Warwickshire Council for Voluntary Service (NWCVS) and became an independent charity in 1988. We provide our service to the whole Borough of North Warwickshire.

What do we do?

The Volunteer Centre North Warwickshire supports, promotes and develops volunteering in Atherstone, Coleshill, Polesworth and all the surrounding villages.

Our mission is ‘to promote and develop voluntary activity for the benefit of both volunteers and the local community’.

We achieve this by recruiting volunteers and matching them with suitable volunteering opportunities.

We have information on volunteering opportunities and can help you become a volunteer.

We maintain a register of organisations with volunteering opportunities and post many of these onto the www.do-it.org.uk national volunteering database.

Who is involved?

We are managed by a board of  trustees and have a small staff team.

Martin Horner – Centre Manager

Julie Airey – Volunteer Coordinator

Leanne Patrick – Computer Trainer, UK Online

Bill Mcintosh – Computer Trainer, UK Online

The centre is also supported by a dedicated team of volunteers who run reception, the tea room, computer club, arts and crafts club and down at the allotment.
